Job summary

Lowes Petroleum in Bundaberg is seeking an experienced Heavy Rigid driver to join our team. You will report to the Depot Manager and be responsible for the safe delivery of fuel to customer sites within the region, with loading/unloading, inspections and accurate record-keeping.

This permanent, full-time role offers strong safety emphasis, training, uniforms and PPE, and a guaranteed minimum of 70 hours per fortnight plus overtime allowances.

Qualifications

• Previous experience driving heavy combination vehicles, preferably fuel tankers or dangerous goods.
• Current HR/HC/MC driver’s licence with a strong, safe driving history.
• Dangerous Goods (DG) licence and relevant tanker experience highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of fatigue management, Chain of Responsibility and workplace safety requirements.
• Reliable, professional and safety-focused with good communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate fuel tanker vehicles to deliver fuel to customer sites and service stations.
• Complete loading, unloading and fuel transfer procedures in accordance with safety requirements.
• Conduct pre-start vehicle inspections and ensure all equipment is maintained and roadworthy.
• Maintain accurate delivery records, paperwork and compliance documentation.
• Provide professional customer service while adhering to company policies, fatigue management and Chain of Responsibility requirements.
