Job summary

Southern NSW Local Health District is seeking a Health and Security Assistant to protect and support our rural community in Cooma. This casual role supports safety, patient and staff wellbeing, and general duties across facilities under clinical guidance.

You will perform ward assistance, portering, cleaning and security tasks, with flexibility for a 24/7 roster; current NSW Security Licence required or obtained within 3 months, plus First Aid and ability to travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Current NSW Security licence (Class 1A minimum) and ability to maintain; or obtain within 3 months.
• Knowledge of person-centred care in a health environment.
• Experience in communicating with diverse people with a friendly, respectful approach.
• Physical capacity to lift and transfer patients.
• Experience in conflict resolution and aggression management.
• Ability to work independently or in a team on a 24/7 roster.
• Follows Work Health and Safety legislation and related policies.
• Willingness to drive/travel as the role requires.

Responsibilities
