Job summary

SA Health in South Australia is seeking a Pre-Analytical Operational Services Officer to support the Pre-Analytical Services team. You will perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, management and administration with compassionate, high-touch patient service and operate Laboratory Information Systems.

You will receive, sort and prepare samples, ensure correct storage and transport, and accurately enter patient details into lab systems.

Qualifications

• Frontline role supporting pre-analytical services.
• Experience in hospital/pathology settings with knowledge of NATA, WHS and infection control.
• Confident using Laboratory Information Systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage specimens at the pre-analytical stage including receiving, sorting and preparing samples.
• Enter patient and test information into Laboratory Information Systems accurately.
• Maintain correct storage and transport conditions for specimens.
