Job summary

carsales.com.au is seeking a product-engineering focused Frontend Engineer to deliver end-to-end features using React or Angular with TypeScript, paired with Node.js services and collaboration with .NET APIs. Expect to contribute across the stack and grow backend skills as you progress.

This role sits in the Retail team, offering hybrid work with flexible arrangements and a culture that values learning, feedback, and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of commercial experience building product features in React or Angular with TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience building and consuming APIs with Node.js.
• Experience with back-end services in C#/.NET or Java, and the appetite to work in our .NET services.
• A clear problem-solving approach and good testing habits, using tools such as Jest, Vitest or Playwright.
• Inclusive and interpersonal attributes that connect you to our behaviours: we change the game, we own it, we step in, we are curious, and we don’t take ourselves too seriously.

About the Retail team

In the Retail team, we build the services and experiences behind the buying and selling journey on one of Australia’s largest automotive marketplaces. We’re a team of product engineers who own features end to end, from the interface through to the services behind it.

This is a product engineering role with a front-end focus. You’ll spend most of your time building features in React or Angular with TypeScript and Node.js, and you’ll work regularly with our .NET services. It isn’t a design-system or UI-specialist role.
