Job summary

South East Queensland Hauliers in Hemmant QLD is seeking a Machine Operator to support our busy logging yard. You will operate a Front-End Loader, load and pack export logs, and assist with other machinery as required.

LF Forklift licence is highly advantageous. We expect safety-focused, mechanically minded team players who can work 8-10 hour days Monday to Friday, with overtime paid and no weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Front-End Loader operating experience essential.
• LF Forklift licence and forklift operating experience highly advantageous but not essential.
• Experience operating other machinery is advantageous.
• Experience with logs, timber, forestry, quarry, civil construction, transport or similar environments is advantageous.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to work around heavy machinery.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Operating a Front-End Loader to move and handle logs throughout the yard.
• Loading and unloading materials as required.
• Preparing and packing export log containers.
• Assisting with log handling and movement.
• Assisting with LF Forklift operations when required.
• Operating other machinery as required.
• Moving between different areas of the yard to support operations.
• Conducting basic machinery checks.
• Identifying and reporting mechanical issues.
• Assisting with general yard duties when required.
• Maintaining a safe and tidy work environment.
• Following all site safety procedures and requirements.
