Job summary

Protech is seeking an experienced Front End Loader / Forklift Operator for a fertiliser plant at Cairns Wharf. This casual role on a Monday to Friday roster offers a competitive hourly rate and occasional night shifts and weekends through Christmas 2026.

Based at Cairns Wharf, you will work within a fertiliser processing and distribution facility. Commitment to safety and reliability is essential, with forklift operation and loader experience required, plus a current LF licence and White Card.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated Front End Loader operating experience.
• Current Forklift Licence (LF).
• Construction White Card preferred.
• Current Driver’s Licence and reliable transport.
• Availability to work occasional night shifts and weekends.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Previous experience in a warehouse, yard, plant or bulk materials environment highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Operate Front End Loader and Forklift safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload fertiliser products.
• Assist with general yard and plant operations.
• Maintain stockpiles and storage areas.
• Complete pre-start inspections and basic equipment housekeeping.
• Follow all site safety procedures and workplace requirements.
• Assist with general labouring duties as required.
