Job summary

Cochrane's Transport in Gillman, SA, is seeking reliable Freight Handlers for our Afternoon Shift on a casual basis. You will sort, load and unload freight, operate pallet jacks, and help keep our depot safe, clean and efficient to support fast, next-day delivery across SA.

We value a strong work ethic, reliability and the ability to work well in a team. Forklift license is preferred but not essential; prior freight/warehousing experience is advantageous; above-award wages and career development

Qualifications

• Strong work ethic and reliability.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks and lift heavy items.
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Forklift license preferred but not essential.
• Previous freight handling or warehousing experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading freight from trucks and trailers.
• Sorting and staging freight for dispatch.
• Operating pallet jacks and forklifts (desirable).
• Ensuring freight is handled safely and efficiently.
• Maintaining a clean and organised work area.
• Following all workplace health and safety procedures.

About the Position:

• 17.5% Shift loading in accordance with Peter Cochrane Management EA 2018
• 13.5% Superannuation

Cochrane's Transport is seeking reliable and motivated Freight Handlers to join our Afternoon Shift team at our Gillman Depot on a casual basis. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy hands-on work in a fast-paced transport and logistics environment. As a valued member of our operations team, you'll play a key role in ensuring freight is safely and efficiently sorted, loaded, and unloaded to keep our network moving.
