Job summary

CALROC Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Steel Fixers & Formwork Carpenters to join our team on FRP projects in Ipswich and Rockhampton, Queensland.

We are looking for skilled workers who are confident in their trade, work well in a team and are willing to take on concrete pours and general site activities. Ongoing work is available for the next 12 months.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or minimum 3 years' relevant steel fixing/reinforcement experience
• Trade qualification or minimum 3 years' relevant experience for Formwork Carpenters
• White Card

Responsibilities

• Install reinforcing steel, mesh and reinforcement systems from drawings and reinforcement schedules
• Read drawings and plans; set out reinforcement for concrete pours
• Measure, cut and tie reinforcement steel; ensure correct installation to project specs
• Construct, assemble and strip formwork and assist with concrete pours, placement and finishing
• Work with Formwork Carpenters and wider site team; maintain safe, clean work area to meet targets
• Use hand and power tools safely; assist with site activities as required

We are looking for skilled and reliable workers who are confident in their trade or construction experience, work well as part of a team and are willing to get involved with concrete pours and general site activities when required. Ongoing work is available for the next 12 months.

The Role

You will be involved in:

• Installing and fixing reinforcing steel, mesh and reinforcement systems
• Reading and working from drawings, plans and reinforcement schedules
• Measuring, cutting, bending and tying reinforcement steel
• Setting out reinforcement in preparation for concrete pours
• Using hand tools and power tools safely
• Working closely with Formwork Carpenters and the wider site team
• Ensuring reinforcement is installed correctly and to project specifications
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised work area while meeting daily production targets

You will be involved in:

• Constructing, assembling and stripping formwork
• Reading and working from drawings and plans
• Measuring, cutting and assembling materials
• Assisting with concrete pours, placement and finishing
• Using power tools and hand tools
• Working safely and efficiently to meet production targets
• Assisting the wider team with site activities as required

About You

We are looking for candidates with:

• Steelfixers: Trade qualification or minimum 3 years' relevant steel fixing/reinforcement experience
• Formwork Carpenters: Trade qualification or minimum 3 years' relevant experience
• Confidence using hand and power tools
• Strong work ethic and reliable attitude
• Good physical fitness and willingness to work hands-on
• Strong commitment to safety and quality
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• White Card
