Job summary

Advance Formwork (WA) Pty Ltd in Western Australia is seeking a competent carpenter to join our residential timber framing team. You will study plans, fabricate and erect timber frames, floorboards and linings, and set out layouts to ensure accuracy and weather-tightness.

The role requires a Certificate III in Carpentry or a related qualification, with 1–2 years in a similar role; three years may substitute.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Carpentry or a relevant higher qualification is required.
• 1–2 years of experience in a similar role is preferred; three years may substitute for formal qualification.
• Knowledge of NCC and WHS standards is essential.

Responsibilities

• Study plans, drawings, and specifications to determine materials, dimensions, and installation procedures for residential projects.
• Fabricate, construct, and erect timber frames, wall studs, roof trusses, and subfloors per specifications.
• Cut, shape, and assemble timber and composite materials using hand and power tools to form structural components.
• Install floorboards, wall cladding, fascia boards, roof framing, and internal timber linings for weather-tightness.
• Set out building layouts and establish levels using spirit levels, laser levels, and measuring tools.
• Install door frames, doors, window frames, staircases, cabinetry, and internal finishes.
• Coordinate with Site Supervisor, Project Manager, and sub-contractors to progress per plans.
• Inspect and repair damaged timber structures and fixtures on renovation projects.
• Ensure compliance with NCC, Australian Standards, and local council regulations.
• Manage timber and hardware inventory on site and maintain safe storage.
• Adhere to WHS standards and maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment.
• Conduct quality control checks on completed timber framing before hand-off to finishing trades
