Job summary

KPI Labour Hire is recruiting skilled Formwork Carpenters to join our expanding team on ongoing projects across Melbourne and regional Victoria. This role offers steady work on EBA rates with leading civil and infrastructure contractors.

You will be tasked with producing quality formwork while upholding safety, workmanship and teamwork across substations, data centres, bridges and large-scale industrial sites.

Qualifications

• Trade-qualified Carpenter with relevant qualifications, or proven formwork experience.
• At least 2 years' experience across formwork, carpentry or civil construction.
• Proven ability assembling and fixing formwork systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Capable of sustained physically demanding manual work.
• Current Construction Induction (White Card).
• Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and best practice.
• Prepared to work across a range of project sites throughout Victoria.
• Experience with proprietary formwork systems will be well regarded.
• Background in steel fixing, conduit laying or pipe laying is a plus.
• Previous work on substations, terminal stations or data centre projects is well regarded.
• VESI training and plant equipment tickets are a plus.
• Prepared to complete a Medical and Police Check.

Responsibilities

• Erecting, setting out and stripping formwork in line with drawings and specifications.
• Formwork to walls, columns, slabs, decks, beams, footings and pits.
• Assembling and fixing formwork panels, metal props, soldiers, walers, brackets and clamps.
• Operating with proprietary formwork systems.
• Setting out, levelling, plumbing and squaring formwork ahead of the pour.
• Supporting concrete pouring, screeding and finishing activities.
• Stripping, cleaning, repairing and stacking formwork ready for reuse.
• Carrying out steel fixing, conduit laying and pipe laying tasks as needed.
• Reading and interpreting drawings, plans and specifications.
• Completing work safely, on schedule and to a high standard of quality.
• Adhering to site safety procedures and company policies.
• Working cooperatively with supervisors, operators and construction crews.
