Job summary

Ensign Laboratories is seeking a Formulator / Compounder for Day, Afternoon & Night shifts. The role focuses on GMP-compliant formulation of products, including cytotoxic materials, in a controlled manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities include operating and cleaning equipment, documenting records, and ensuring safety and compliance across shifts. Prior GMP experience and the ability to work in a team are essential.

• Operate, clean, and prep equipment for production readiness.
• Document data entries and production records accurately.
• Conduct pre-use equipment checks and ensure calibration.
• Handle raw materials and chemicals safely according to safety rules.
• Report faults, deviations, safety concerns and training needs.
• Maintain housekeeping and basic maintenance per procedures.
• Support Dispensary and Raw Material Sampling as needed.
• Adhere to health, safety, environmental, and emergency procedures.

Formulator / Compounder (Day, Afternoon & Night Shift)

Responsibilities Include / What You Will Do

Perform product formulation activities, including cytotoxic products, within a GMP manufacturing environment in accordance with approved procedures, electronic job sheets (EJS), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Prepare, operate, and clean manufacturing equipment to ensure production readiness and compliance with GMP requirements.

Accurately follow formulation instructions and complete all required documentation, data entry, and production records.

Conduct pre-use equipment checks, ensuring equipment is safe, calibrated, and fit for purpose.

Safely handle raw materials, chemicals, and manufacturing equipment while adhering to quality, safety, and environmental requirements.

Report equipment faults, process deviations, safety concerns, and training needs to supervisors in a timely manner.

Perform routine cleaning, decontamination, and basic maintenance activities in accordance with approved procedures.

Participate in biological health monitoring and personal air monitoring programs where required.

Ensure dedicated cytotoxic equipment remains within designated areas and that non-dedicated equipment is appropriately decontaminated before removal.

Provide support to the Dispensary and Raw Material Sampling teams as required to meet operational and production needs.

Follow all workplace health, safety, environmental, and emergency response procedures.

Essential Skills & Experience / What You Will Bring

Previous experience working in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical, healthcare, food manufacturing, chemical processing, or similar production environment.

Understanding of GMP principles, quality systems, and documentation requirements.

Experience handling chemicals, raw materials, or manufacturing equipment safely and effectively.

Basic computer literacy and confidence using electronic production systems and documentation.

Physically capable of performing manual handling tasks, including lifting materials up to 25kg in accordance with safe work practices.

Ability to stand for extended periods and regularly perform bending, twisting, stair climbing, and ladder use.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Experience working with cytotoxic products or hazardous materials is highly regarded.
