Job summary

Talent Acquisition Group in Melbourne is seeking experienced Forklift Operators to join a busy airfreight terminal. You will be moving aircraft units, loading freight from trucks, and ensuring cargo moves safely and efficiently according to WHS procedures.

The role offers a full rotational roster with morning, afternoon and night shifts. A safety-focused, physically capable candidate with forklift experience can progress in aviation logistics in a long-term capacity.

Qualifications

• Current Forklift Licence.
• Previous forklift operating experience.
• Freight, warehouse or logistics experience highly regarded.
• Able to pass Drug & Alcohol testing.
• Willingness to obtain an ASIC.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift to unload and move aircraft units.
• Load and unload freight from trucks.
• Manually handle freight when required.
• Remove cargo nets and shrink-wrap from pallets.
• Move and position airfreight safely throughout the terminal.
• Operate hoists to safely manoeuvre aircraft units.
• Assist with general airfreight terminal and warehouse duties.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures.
• Work as part of a team to ensure freight is processed efficiently and on time.

We're looking for experienced and reliable Forklift Operators to join a busy airfreight operation in Melbourne. This is a hands-on role where you'll be working with international freight and aircraft units, helping keep cargo moving safely and efficiently.

About the Role As a Forklift Operator, you'll play an important role in the safe and efficient movement of airfreight throughout the terminal.
Your day-to-day duties will include:

• Operating a forklift to unload and move aircraft units
• Loading and unloading freight from trucks
• Manually handling freight when required
• Removing cargo nets and shrink-wrap from pallets
• Moving and positioning airfreight safely throughout the terminal
• Operating hoists to safely manoeuvre aircraft units
• Assisting with general airfreight terminal and warehouse duties
• Following all workplace health and safety procedures
• Working as part of a team to ensure freight is processed efficiently and on time

Rosters & Pay

• $34.95 per hour + applicable penalties
• Full rotational roster - morning, afternoon and night shifts
• Monday to Sunday availability may be required
• Full availability across the rotational roster is essential

What We’re Looking For

• Current Forklift Licence
• Previous forklift operating experience
• Freight, warehouse or logistics experience highly regarded
• Experience with loading and unloading freight
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
• Reliable and punctual
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Fully available to work a rotational roster - essential
• Able to pass a National Criminal History Check
• Able to pass Drug & Alcohol testing
• Willingness to obtain an ASIC
