Job summary

Strait Link, based at our Melbourne site, is seeking a hands-on Forklift Operator to safely move and coordinate freight across the depot. The role requires loading/unloading vehicles, scanning and reconfiguring freight, and preparing shipments for linehaul movements.

You will ensure on-time distribution while adhering to safety standards. Applicants should hold a current Forklift Licence, have freight/logistics experience if possible, and demonstrate a proactive safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Current and valid Forklift Licence (mandatory)
• Experience in freight, logistics or transport setting (highly regarded)
• Proactive approach to workplace safety
• Ability to follow instructions and established processes
• Confidence working independently and within a team
• Full working rights in Australia

Responsibilities

• Safely loading and unloading vehicles and trailers
• Scanning, sorting and reconfiguring freight as required
• Re-palletising and preparing freight for shipping and linehaul movements
• Ensuring accurate and timely freight distribution
• Working to operational deadlines and following site procedures
• Identifying and reporting damaged freight in line with process
• Applying safe load restraint practices, including correct use of straps and equipment
• Maintaining strict adherence to safety and compliance standards
