Job summary

Al Sahel Metal Recyclers in Carrum Downs, Victoria, is seeking a Forklift Driver/Labourer for a full-time role in our warehousing and distribution centre. You will move, store, and manage materials, ensuring efficient daily operations within a fast-paced metal recycling environment.

The ideal candidate holds a valid forklift license and has proven forklift experience in a warehouse setting, with a strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Valid forklift license and certification or willingness to obtain one shortly after commencing employment.
• Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Physical capability for manual labour including lifting, bending and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills and reliability in attendance.
• Willingness to follow all safety procedures and wear PPE.
• Experience in recycling or manufacturing is advantageous, not essential.
• Clear criminal record and working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, load, and unload goods safely and efficiently.
• Transport materials between different areas of the warehouse and distribution centre.
• Stack and organise materials in accordance with safety protocols and warehouse procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and stock levels.
• Conduct pre-shift inspections of forklift equipment to identify and report mechanical issues.
• Assist with general warehouse duties, including sweeping, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment.
• Support the loading and unloading of vehicles and containers.
• Follow all health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure coordinated operations.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
