Randstad Pty seeks a Cold Storage Forklift Operator to join our Derrimut team. You'll operate counterbalance forklifts in a refrigerated environment, handling loading/unloading and staging of goods in a high-demand logistics setting.

Shifts cover Morning, Afternoon and Night with Monday–Sunday coverage; temperatures can reach -22°C, requiring resilience and precision in daily tasks and safety checks.

Qualifications

About the Role

We are seeking motivated and skilled forklift drivers to join our team. You will be working in refrigerated environments as cold as (-22) ensuring a smooth forklift operation in a leading logistics company located in Derrimut. Multiple positions and shifts available Morning, Afternoon & Night, Monday - Sunday. These positions offer consistent hours with a strong pathway to ongoing work for high-performing candidates.

Role: Cold Storage Forklift Operator

Location: Derrimut, VIC

Pay Rate: $37.01 - $45.89 per hour + super

Available Shift times

Morning Shifts:

• 5:00am – 1:00pm (Monday – Friday)
• 5:00am – 1:00pm (Wednesday – Sunday)

Afternoon Shifts:

• 12:00pm – 8:00pm (Monday – Friday)
• 2:00pm – 10:00pm (Monday – Friday)

Night Shifts:

• 9:00pm – 5:00am (Tuesday – Saturday)
• 9:00pm – 5:00am (Friday – Tuesday)

Key Responsibilities

• Forklift Operations & Freight Handling: Safely operates counterbalance forklifts to handle loading, unloading, and staging of goods. Performs put-aways and secures trailer loads with manual strapping as required.
• Cold Storage Operations: Comfortably works in temperature-controlled environments, including high-volume chilled facilities and deep freezers with temperatures dropping as low as -22°C.
• Pre-Start & Safety Inspections: Conducts daily pre-start checks on all machinery and equipment prior to shift start to ensure full operational compliance.
• Documentation & Load Tracking: Accurately completes load sheets, manifest paperwork, and inventory logs to maintain precise tracking and chain of custody.
• WHS & Housekeeping: Strictly adheres to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) protocols. Maintains high standards of daily housekeeping across packing stations, loading docks, and storage aisles to ensure a safe, hazard-free workplace.

What We Are Looking For

• Cold Chain & HACCP Experience: A minimum of 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience working within chilled, frozen, or food-safe environments subject to strict HACCP standards.
• Proven Machinery & Logistics Skills: Strong experience operating counterbalance forklifts, conducting systematic pre-start checks, and handling rapid turnarounds on loading docks.
• Administrative Accuracy: Demonstrated confidence and diligence in filling out and auditing physical and digital load sheets.
• Composure & Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically on your feet, solve operational bottlenecks quickly, and stay calm and focused under pressure during peak dispatch periods.
• Adaptability & Work Ethic: High level of flexibility to adjust to changing shift demands and operational schedules, backed by a strong work ethic, exceptional punctuality, and sharp attention to detail.
