Job summary

Harmon Plumbing & Lighting is seeking a reliable Warehouse Assistant to join our team in Smithfield NSW. This hands-on role focuses on picking and packing customer orders, receiving stock, and supporting day-to-day warehouse operations.

Candidates should be organised and efficient, with good attention to detail and a proactive attitude. A current forklift licence is required, and a driver’s licence is preferred for local deliveries.

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse, picking and packing or stores experience preferred.
• Current forklift licence is required.
• Current driver’s licence preferred.
• Good attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy warehouse environment.
• Physically capable of safely performing manual handling duties.
• Reliable, punctual and team-oriented.
• Positive attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed.
• Experience with plumbing supplies, building materials or similar products.
• Previous experience with stock management or warehouse systems.
• Experience loading and unloading delivery vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Accurately pick, pack and prepare customer orders for delivery or collection.
• Check products, quantities and paperwork to ensure orders are correct.
• Receive, unload and organise incoming stock and supplier deliveries.
• Load and unload delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Operate a forklift and other warehouse equipment in accordance with safety requirements.
• Assist with dispatching orders and coordinating stock movements.
• Maintain accurate stock records and report discrepancies.
• Participate in regular stocktakes and inventory checks.
• Assist with local supplier collections and customer deliveries when required.
• Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised warehouse.
• Work closely with warehouse, sales and delivery staff to ensure orders are completed on time.
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
