Jobwire is seeking a reliable Forklift Operator to join a busy meat processing team for an ongoing day‑shift role in a fast‑paced production environment in Melbourne, Australia. The role involves operating a counterbalance forklift, loading/unloading, stocking, and maintaining clean, safe work areas.

Candidates should be physically fit, comfortable with manual handling and cold environments, and committed to safety.

Qualifications

• Forklift operation experience in a meat processing/manufacturing setting preferred.
• Ability to work in cold environments and handle manual tasks.
• Strong commitment to safety and following procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate a counterbalance forklift to move pallets into freezers and blast freezers at -10°C.
• Load and unload trucks in the yard.
• Move and store stock across production and warehouse areas.
• Operate pumps to transfer product into plate freezers.
• Manually handle frozen product blocks onto conveyors and pallets.
• Operate the palletiser.
• Keep production and processing areas clean, safe and tidy.

• Loading and unloading trucks in the yard
• Moving and storing stock across production and warehouse areas
• Operating pumps to transfer product into plate freezers
• Manually handling frozen product blocks onto conveyors and pallets
• Operating the palletiser
• Keeping production and processing areas clean, safe and tidy

About you

• Meat processing or manufacturing experience is an advantage
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling and cold environments
• A strong commitment to safety, hygiene and following procedures
• Reliable, punctual and ready to be part of a team
• Consistent 6AM–2PM hours
