Job summary

Silver Lynx in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Forklift Driver / Factory Operator. This rare hybrid role combines approximately 40% forklift duties with 60% factory work, focusing on timber machining, inwards goods, and stock control.

You will join a supportive team in a well-established Australian furniture manufacturer, with emphasis on production excellence, safe work practices, and timely material movements.

Qualifications

• Counterbalance forklift driving experience required.
• Stock counting and control responsibilities.
• Experience in production and assembly tasks is a plus.
• Strong safety focus and ability to work independently.
• Experience with veneer board and timber is advantageous.
• Prior similar industry experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift to move goods and materials.
• Support timber machining department and inwards goods.
• Maintain stock accuracy and stock levels.
• Assist with production and assembly tasks when needed.

We currently have a rare opportunity for an experienced Forklift Driver / Factory Operator to join our dynamic and supportive team.

This is a rare hybrid role with approximately 40% forklift duties / 60% factory operator.

This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of our day-to-day business, with a focus on the timber machining department, inwards goods, and stock control.

What you’ll bring

• Proven experience as a counterbalance forklift driver (licence required)
• Strong ability to count, manage, and control stock
• Assisting with production and assembly tasks.

• Clear and effective communication skills
• Ability to manage workloads and timelines efficiently
• Strong focus on workplace safety
• Self-motivation with the ability to work independently
• Experience handling veneer board and timber (advantageous but not essential)
• Prior experience in a similar industry (advantageous but not essential)
