Job summary

Thompsons Roller Shutters, located in Sydney, is seeking a reliable Forklift Driver and Storeperson to support daily production, dispatch, and warehouse operations. The role involves moving materials, loading/unloading, and maintaining an orderly, safe work area in a busy factory.

The ideal candidate holds current forklift licences, can work in a team, and adheres to WHS standards with a focus on accuracy and efficiency. Overtime may apply under the Enterprise Agreement.

Qualifications

• MR/HR licence is a bonus and will be considered a positive.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and trolleys to move materials, goods and stock within the facility.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area in line with safety procedures.
• Prepare, pack and dispatch finished goods as needed.
• Assist with loading and unloading trucks.
• Follow WHS protocols and report hazards or incidents.
• Support other production tasks as required.

Location

Currently located in Turrella, Sydney, and preparing to relocate operations to Minto, Sydney, in mid to late 2027.

The Position

This role supports day-to-day factory operations by safely operating forklifts and other workplace equipment to move, prepare and dispatch materials, finished goods and stock.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a busy factory environment, assisting with loading and unloading trucks, and maintaining a safe, organised work area to maximise efficiency.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Operating forklifts and using trolleys to move materials, finished goods and stock within the workplace.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area in line with workplace health and safety procedures.
• Prepare, pack, handle and move finished goods for dispatch.
• Use powered and hand tools where required.
• Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
• Follow WHS requirements, including hazard and incident reporting procedures.
• Assist with other production tasks as required.

What We’re Looking For

• Current Forklift and Driver licences are essential.
• Experience in a factory, warehouse, or industrial environment is considered a bonus, but not essential.
• Strong understanding of WHS requirements, safe manual handling, and maintaining an organised, clean and safe work area.
• Ability to multitask, meet workload requirements and complete work in a timely and efficient manner.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-based production environment.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Commitment to quality.
• Willingness to assist with other production tasks as required.

The Company

As we continue to grow, we are expanding our production team and preparing to relocate operations to Minto, Sydney, in mid to late 2027.

This is a factory-based role involving standing for extended periods, manual handling and physically active work. From time to time, overtime may be required to meet operational deadlines and will apply in accordance with the relevant Enterprise Agreement.
