Job summary

Forestry Corporation of NSW is seeking Plant Operators for Tumut & Bombala regions to operate and maintain heavy plant across forest road construction and maintenance. The role includes supporting safe haulage routes, meeting safety standards, and participating in fire standby rosters with after-hours work.

The ideal candidate will have HC licence, experience with dozers/graders, strong safety focus, and willingness to undertake training and adapt to outdoor forest operations.

Qualifications

• Experience safely operating dozers, graders or heavy plant in road construction/maintenance.
• Current HC driver licence with ability to transport heavy plant.
• Good verbal communication and ability to follow complex instructions.
• Ability to undertake manual labour and daily prestart inspections.
• Capacity to undertake fire standby and operate heavy plant on a fire line.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain heavy plant across forest road construction and maintenance activities.
• Support safe, reliable haulage routes while meeting environmental and safety standards.
• Participate in recurring fire standby roster with after hours and weekend work.
