Job summary

Brimbank City Council in Melbourne's west is seeking a full-time permanent role to coordinate and oversee the footpath and pedestrian infrastructure rehabilitation programs. You will manage contracts, budgets and resources to deliver safe, accessible and high-quality outcomes for the community.

Responsibilities include leading planning and delivery of maintenance programs, supervising contractors and staff, and ensuring compliance with standards and the Road Management Plan.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Asset Management, Project Management or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience in municipal infrastructure construction, maintenance, rehabilitation or asset management.
• Demonstrated experience in contract administration, contractor management and supervision of civil works.
• Well-developed negotiation, stakeholder engagement, verbal communication and report writing skills.
• Current Victorian Driver's Licence.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, works management systems and project management software.
• Experience in leading maintenance programs, budgets, policies and service improvements.
• Local Government experience and knowledge of municipal infrastructure management practices is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, prioritisation and delivery of Council’s footpath, kerb and pedestrian infrastructure maintenance and rehabilitation programs.
• Manage significant operational and capital budgets, contracts and resources to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to required standards.
• Manage contractor performance and provide expert advice on contractual and technical matters to support the delivery of footpath and civil works.
• Lead and develop technical staff and contractors while ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, Council standards and the Road Management Plan.
