Job summary

Oberon High School in the Geelong growth corridor of Armstrong Creek, Victoria, is seeking competent classroom teachers to deliver a broad secondary curriculum. Candidates will plan and deliver literacy and numeracy instruction, monitor progress, and contribute to school improvement aligned with district priorities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of curriculum and ability to teach literacy and numeracy; respond to student learning needs.
• Experience planning high-impact teaching strategies and evaluating their impact on student learning growth.
• Experience monitoring and assessing student learning using data to inform teaching and provide feedback to students and parents.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate with students, parents, colleagues and the broader school community.
• Commitment to Department values and ongoing professional learning to continually improve teaching quality.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum areas or programs.
• Undertaking other classroom teaching related and organisational duties as determined by the principal.
• Participating in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.
