Job summary

The Transport Accident Commission (TAC) is seeking a Manager, FOI and Information Release to lead the FOI and information release functions, providing high quality legal advice on the Freedom of Information Act and the Transport Accident Act.

You will develop and implement an enterprise-wide information release strategy, oversee end-to-end processing of requests, manage a high-performing team, and ensure timely, compliant decision making while supporting transparency and service delivery.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading the end-to-end delivery of Freedom of Information (FOI) functions.
• Proven track record managing sensitive and high-profile FOI matters, providing strategic, high-quality advice on information access, disclosure obligations, and information release.
• Experience in managing external review processes, including responding to OVIC FOI reviews and complaints and managing FOI matters at VCAT.
• Experience in information governance and records management, including knowledge of systems used to capture and store information.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the TAC's FOI and information release functions.
• Provide authoritative, high-quality legal advice on the Freedom of Information Act and the Transport Accident Act.
• Develop and implement an enterprise-wide approach to information release, balancing risk and transparency.
