Job summary

The Reject Shop Ltd. in Victoria, Australia is seeking a Buyer to join our Store Support Centre. You will manage a category, coordinate samples and promotions, and negotiate with suppliers to secure value and quality for our customers.

With 1–2 years in buying or merchandising, you will analyse data in Excel, support catalogue development, and collaborate with Planning, Marketing, and Store Operations to drive profitable sales in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years’ experience in buying, merchandising, or procurement.
• Experience in FMCG categories.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Proficient in Excel and data analysis to support decisions.

Responsibilities

• Manage a category and deliver on the critical path.
• Coordinate samples, purchase orders, and promotions to meet timelines.
• Communicate with local and overseas suppliers for quotes and information.
• Assist with catalogue planning, marketing submissions, and artwork programs.
• Run merchandise reports and monitor competitor pricing.
• Build strong internal relationships with Planning, Marketing and Store Ops teams.
• Help shape a category strategy that delivers value and experience for customers.
