Job summary

Operations Level 3 - $68,660 per annum + superannuation

+ Annualised allowance $2,597

+ 9-day fortnight

What we are looking for:

Are you passionate about working within the community to create a better environment? Do you have the skills and enthusiasm to maintain and upgrade Council Infrastructure?

As a Flying Gang team member, you will play a key role in ensuring the upkeep and enhancement of Council Infrastructure, contributing to the maintenance of well-kept public spaces.

The ideal candidate will possess construction maintenance experience, the ability to inspect and report on hazards, good written and verbal communication skills, the ability to multitask while working effectively in a fast-paced environment with a high attention to detail.

What your day will look like:

  • General maintenance and construction of Council assets
  • Cleaning and upkeep of public spaces
  • Operating light mechanical plant and small equipment
  • Supporting a safe and welcoming environment for the community

What you should have to apply:

  • MR Licence at a minimum
  • Relevant skills and experience in construction maintenance and upgrading infrastructure
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Physical ability to perform hands on maintenance work
  • Flexibility to work in different areas and adapt to different tasks
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to safety protocols

What’s nice to have:

  • Certificate III (AQF Level 3 or above) in horticulture/landscape/construction or carpentry (and/or studying)
  • SWNELP
  • Traffic Management Implementation Level II
