GPX Projects is seeking an experienced Floor Finisher to join our team on refurbishment and renovation projects. We are looking for someone reliable who takes pride in workmanship and works well with other trades.

Responsibilities include preparing floors, installing timber and laminate flooring, applying adhesives, sanding and finishing, and coordinating with site supervisors to meet schedules. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Flooring Technology or equivalent qualification.
• At least two years of relevant experience in floor preparation, installation and finishing.
• Ability to interpret plans, take accurate measurements and work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills.
• Current Construction White Card and driver’s licence.
• Reliable, professional approach and good communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Inspect and prepare floors, including removing coverings, repairing substrates and levelling surfaces.
• Measure and set out flooring, calculate material quantities and minimise waste.
• Measure, cut, fit and install timber, engineered timber, laminate and resilient flooring, including vinyl.
• Prepare and apply adhesives, underlays, trims and transition strips per manufacturer specs.
• Sand, polish, stain and seal timber flooring surfaces.
• Inspect completed work and rectify defects to achieve high-quality finish.
• Coordinate with site supervisors and other trades to meet project schedules.
• Operate and maintain flooring tools, machinery and equipment safely.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment and comply with WHS requirements.

• Inspect and prepare floors, including removing existing coverings, repairing substrates and levelling surfaces.
• Measure and set out flooring, calculate material quantities and minimise waste.
• Measure, cut fit and install timber, engineered timber, laminate and resilient flooring, including vinyl.
• Prepare and apply adhesives, underlays, trims and transition strips in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
• Sand, polish, stain and seal timber flooring surfaces using appropriate equipment and finishing products.
• Inspect completed work and rectify defects to achieve a high-quality finish.
• Coordinate with site supervisors and other trades to meet project schedules.
• Operate and maintain flooring tools, machinery and equipment safely and effectively.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment and comply with relevant workplace health and safety requirements.

Required qualifications and experience

• Certificate III in Flooring Technology or, an equivalent relevant qualification. Substantial relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
• At least two years of relevant experience in floor preparation, installation and finishing.
• Ability to interpret plans, take accurate measurements and work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills.
• A current Construction White Card and driver’s licence.
• A reliable, professional approach and good communication skills.
