About the role

Due to an internal move, we have an opportunity to join our growing team in Adelaide, as a Float Legal Secretary, working with and covering periods of absence or overflow for experienced Legal Secretaries.

This role will see you building great relationships with our Legal Secretarial and Administrative Support teams, as well as legal and business services teams and providing broad administrative support, including:

  • preparing documents, dictation, photocopying, scanning and electronic filing
  • billing
  • managing the team’s diary, emails and travel
  • liaising with clients
  • covering office services including reception, rounds and kitchen duties for periods of absence (lunch breaks and leave)
  • general office administration.

Please note, law students are not encouraged to apply for the role unless they intend on pursuing a long term career in legal support (ie. not as a lawyer) and are available to work full time.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have some legal secretarial or administrative experience with:

  • the ability to work within a team
  • an exceptional work ethic
  • initiative, flexibility and positive attitude
  • high attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • superior communication skills
  • familiarity with legal practice software, including NetDocs and Affinity (helpful, not essential)
