Job summary

The Civil Aviation Safety Authority is recruiting for a specialist licensing role within the Client Service Centre. You will deliver flight crew licensing and aviation assessment services to support safety outcomes across Australia, exercising delegated powers and providing expert regulatory guidance.

Qualifications

• Meet mandatory requirements under Pathway 1 or Pathway 2.
• 8+ years of experience holding or having held a CASA flight crew licence or equivalent.
• In-depth understanding of Australia’s Civil Aviation Act 1988 and relevant legislation.
• Hold or have held an Australian ATPL and a Grade 1 Flight Instructor Rating.
• Extensive experience in aeronautical knowledge ground instruction or training & assessment.
• Pathway 2 requires 8+ years in flight crew licensing, AROC and AELP programs.
• Hold a Diploma of Quality Auditing or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Make licensing, approval and compliance decisions under delegated authority.
• Deliver regulatory services related to flight crew licensing and aviation safety.
• Provide technical advice and guidance to industry and stakeholders.
• Conduct compliance and surveillance activities and prepare recommendations.
• Build strong relationships and work collaboratively across CASA and the aviation sector.
• Identify emerging risks and contribute to practical regulatory solutions.
• Support a safe, inclusive and high-performing workplace culture.
• Contribute to change, continuous improvement and organisational priorities.
