Job summary

Grand Pacific Health Ltd is seeking a part-time Support Worker, AOD in Queanbeyan to provide recovery-focused support to consumers. The role is 15 hours per week, fixed term until 30 June 2027 with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Qualification (or currently studying) a qualification in mental health, health or community/social services discipline (minimum Certificate IV).
• Demonstrated experience in working with people who live with AOD difficulties.
• Commitment to recovery-oriented practice per National Framework for Recovery Oriented Mental Health Services.
• Knowledge of harm minimisation principles gained through education/training.

Responsibilities

• Support consumers to build decision-making, social skills, independence, healthy habits, and resilience
• Promote community access, participation, and positive self-identity
• Work alongside consumers to achieve personal recovery goals
• Collaborate with housing, mental health, AOD services, families, and carers
• Deliver practical, person-centred, recovery-focused support
• Contribute to holistic care that improves quality of life outcomes
