Job summary

Sharp & Carter is seeking a Speech Pathologist to provide autonomous, flexible clinical support across Wollongong and surrounding areas. You will work in community and residential aged care settings, assessing and treating adults with communication and swallowing difficulties, including dementia, Parkinson’s, stroke, and progressive conditions.

New graduates and experienced clinicians are supported with regular 1:1 supervision, a national network, and ongoing PD opportunities.

Qualifications

• A recognised qualification in Speech Pathology.
• Current Speech Pathology Australia membership.
• Current driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Interest in supporting adults with communication and swallowing needs.

Responsibilities

• Complete swallowing and communication assessments.
• Develop and deliver evidence-based interventions.
• Support adults with complex and evolving clinical presentations.
• Work across residential aged care, clients' homes and community environments.
• Deliver telehealth services where clinically appropriate.
• Manage your own appointments, diary and travel schedule.
• Collaborate with families, support coordinators, facility staff and other health professionals.
• Provide practical education and recommendations to clients, families and support teams.
• Advocate for clients' communication, independence, dignity and quality of life.
• Collaborate with Speech Pathologists nationally and contribute to shared clinical learning.
