Job summary

Respect is Australia’s largest provider of aged care services in Regional Australia, and is seeking a Casual Food Services Assistant to work with the Chef or Cook to prepare and serve meals for residents while upholding food safety standards and ensuring kitchen operations run smoothly.

As a casual role, it offers flexible shifts across weekdays and weekends. You will join a supportive team in a values-led organisation that prioritises dignity, compassion and meaningful careers in aged care.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Food Handling Course
• Current National Police Check
• NDIS Worker Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Previous experience in residential aged care food services

Responsibilities

• Support menu planning to reflect residents’ needs, preferences, and dietary requirements.
• Prepare, serve, and present meals and refreshments in line with the Food Safety Program.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, including general cleaning and safe food handling practices.
• Monitor and record food safety requirements, including temperatures and goods received.
• Deliver meals with a friendly, respectful approach and report any concerns to the Registered Nurse in Charge.
