Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join the New South Wales Buildings Team in Sydney, delivering building projects across sectors such as education, health and defence.

The role involves civil design, coordination with architects and other disciplines, and supporting proposals, estimates and site activities. The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree and 4–6 years’ experience, strong CAD skills and a proactive, collaborative mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 4-6 years of experience in civil design for building projects.
• Knowledge of site development, stormwater management, and civil systems integration.
• Proficiency in civil design software and CAD tools.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across disciplines.
• Proactive problem-solving and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform civil engineering design for building projects across various sectors, including preparing drawings, calculations, reports, and design criteria using CAD and civil design software.
• Prepare and review engineering documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project standards throughout all phases.
• Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to deliver integrated design solutions and attend coordination meetings.
• Assist with proposals, cost estimates, and project documentation, while supporting scope, budget, and scheduling discussions.
• Support construction phase activities, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and preparing site observation reports.
• Deliver work aligned with professional standards, Stantec's quality procedures, and contribute positively to team culture and continuous improvement.
