Job summary

Oppia Wantirna South is seeking a Casual Educator to support our permanent educators in delivering high-quality childcare and educational programs. You will work in a warm, welcoming environment, helping ensure continuity of care for children across developmentally appropriate experiences.

The role requires a current Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, WWCC, and First Aid/ CPR. You’ll join a team dedicated to wellbeing, inclusivity and high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Hold a current, valid Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent).
• Have a current Working with Children Check and up-to-date First Aid and CPR certification.
• Demonstrated knowledge of child development and early childhood pedagogy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children and families.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to casual shifts.
• Commitment to inclusive practices, cultural diversity and child safety.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and care for children in line with centre policies and relevant regulations.
• Assist in planning, preparing and implementing age-appropriate learning activities.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organized learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with children, families and team members.
• Support children's emotional wellbeing and social development.
• Maintain records and documentation as required by centre policies.
