Job summary

KBR's Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Cadet Drafter to support our transport projects. This entry-level role provides hands-on experience across rail, roads and civil infrastructure while you learn drafting standards and workflows from experienced engineers.

You will work under supervision to develop drawings and basic 3D models using industry-standard CAD software, contributing to real projects and growing your skills in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Australian Citizenship required.
• Certificate IV or Diploma in Drafting or equivalent (or currently studying).
• Introductory experience with at least one CAD package (AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D).
• Interest in engineering and practical application of technology.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Eagerness to learn and develop new skills.

Responsibilities

• Produce basic drawings and 3D models using CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Tekla).
• Set up drawing files in accordance with company standards.
• Extract and apply information from engineering specifications and supplier docs.
• Maintain electronic filing and document control for your work.
• Support engineers and senior designers with drafting tasks.
• Collaborate within multidisciplinary project teams to understand workflows.
• Ensure work aligns with quality, safety and environmental standards.
