Job summary

Wellington Shire Council is seeking a Fleet and Procurement Officer within the Finance business unit for a permanent full-time role. The successful candidate will manage Council's fleet of about 95 vehicles, oversee purchasing and tendering activities, and support procure-to-pay processes.

Strong customer service, time management and data analysis skills are essential to drive cost-effective fleet operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in resource management, fleet management and purchasing.
• Ability to negotiate with staff, suppliers and tenderers to achieve desired outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to gather data, analyse and interpret report findings.
• A high level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products.
• Proven ability to work well in a team environment with a ‘can do’ attitude.

Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain and control Wellington Shire Council's fleet of approximately 95 vehicles.
• Engage in purchasing and tendering activities to ensure cost-effective fleet management.
• Assist procure-to-pay functions including training and project work as required.
