Job summary

Hornby Transport Services seeks a qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic for our Thornton depot, full-time. You will service a modern fleet of Kenworth, Western Star and Freightliner trucks and associated trailers, with on-call breakdowns when required.

Requirements include 3+ years post-trade experience, a HR+ license, and a forklift license is advantageous. You will work Monday–Friday with rostered Saturdays and respond to on-call call-outs as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years post-trade experience as a heavy vehicle mechanic.
• HR or higher driver’s license is required.
• Forklift license is advantageous.
• Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine scheduled services on trucks and trailers.
• Attend breakdowns and resolve issues on site or off site.
• Work primarily on Kenworth, Western Star and Freightliner trucks with Cummins engines.
