Raytheon Australia is looking for a proactive Project Manager to lead the Joint Gas Support & Test Equipment (JGSTE) Program. You will oversee strategic planning, procurement, lifecycle management, and disposal of fleet assets to ensure readiness, compliance, and value for money for the Australian Defence Force.

You will lead an expert team, set the vision, and drive processes to deliver innovative fleet solutions.

Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Program or Business Management, with 5+ years' defence project management experience.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and in a high-performance team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders and deliver solutions on time and budget.
  • Baseline Security clearance eligibility as required by the role.

Right now, we are experiencing rapid growth and are seeking a bright and energised Project Manager to join our Joint Gas Support & Test Equipment (JGSTE) Program.

In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, procurement, lifecycle management, and disposal of fleet assets to ensure operational readiness, compliance, and value for money for the Australian Defence Force's Support & Test Equipment Fleet. Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, the Fleet and Acquisition Manager provides expert advice on asset sustainment, capability requirements, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives to deliver efficient, cost-effective, and compliant fleet operations.

You will lead an expert team to success by setting the vision, building the plan and using your unique leadership skills to foster a strong and safe team culture that delivers truly innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer / stakeholder management and engagement
  • Planning, control and reporting on project activities
  • Delivering project contractual requirements
  • Management of project resources and budget requirements
  • Development of proposals including planning, scheduling and estimating
  • Contribute to and support company growth strategies, identify emerging opportunities, concurrent with responsibility to identify, assess and manage risks and opportunities.
  • Provide effective leadership and direction to a team responsible for fleet management, procurement, and asset lifecycle activities
  • Some travel may be required within Australia to fulfil the requirements of this role
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in either Program or Business Management, or equivalent experience; with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a defence project management role or relevant experience; - Demonstrated competence in Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) competencies;
  • Proven ability to work both as an individual and as a member of a high-performance team;
  • Strongly developed interpersonal skills and able to influence stakeholders at an operational level and the ability to develop solutions that meet complex customer requirements;
  • Demonstrated focus on delivering the best possible outcome and attends to all details required to deliver the right solutions at the right time and commitments are met on budget and schedule.
