Job summary

Protecht Group in Cardiff is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our refurbishment and maintenance team. You will overhaul, refurbish and maintain train components, ensuring work meets safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates are trade qualified fitters with a mechanical mindset, able to work well in a team, follow procedures, and commit to a safe, high-quality working environment. Monday to Friday roster with competitive hourly rates and long-term opportunities.

Qualifications

• Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter or equivalent.
• Experience with gearboxes is highly regarded.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Commitment to health, safety and quality.

Job description

We are currently seeking experienced Fitters to join a well-established team based in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity to work on the refurbishment and maintenance of rolling stock (trains) within a supportive, safety-focused environment.

About the Role

Working as part of a skilled team, you will be involved in the overhaul, refurbishment and maintenance of train components, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with safety and quality requirements.
