Job summary

Astrum Recruitment is seeking a Fitter/Service Technician for our Sydney workshop to service and repair client products from start to finish. The role involves disassembly, reassembly, testing, and reporting, with occasional on-site installations and troubleshooting.

The ideal candidate has a Cert III in Mechanical Engineering, strong diagnostic skills, and hands-on experience with rotating machinery. Forklift and driver's licences are required, overhead crane experience is a plus.

• Strong diagnostic skills and computer literacy are required.
• Rotating machinery experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, repair, reassemble and test products in line with specifications.
• Complete detailed reports on work and parts used.
• Use hand tools and mechanical knowledge to fit and assemble parts.
• Attend customer sites for installations and troubleshooting.
• Follow safety guidelines and OHS procedures.

Job description

We're currently hiring a Fitter / Service Technician to join our busy workshop team. Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you'll be responsible for the repair and servicing of company products from start to finish — disassembly, reassembly, testing, and reporting — while working to product manuals and technical specifications. You may also be required to attend customer sites to install, troubleshoot, or repair products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Disassemble, repair, reassemble and test products in line with technical specifications
• Complete detailed reports on work carried out and parts required
• Use hand tools and mechanical knowledge to fit and assemble parts
• Attend customer sites as required for installations and troubleshooting
• Work safely and in line with all OHS policies and procedures

What We're Looking For:

• Cert III in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent trade qualification)
• Strong diagnostic skills and computer literacy
• Practical experience with rotating machinery and mechanical principles
• Current Forklift Licence and Driver's Licence
• Overhead crane experience preferred
• HSC or equivalent preferred
