Job summary

FindStaff in Unanderra seeks an experienced Fitter with strong mechanical aptitude to join our workshop.

You will overhaul, repair and assemble bearing rotating equipment, pump components, and balance rotating parts as part of diverse maintenance projects across steelmaking, paper, and mining sectors. You'll work with a fully equipped workshop and a friendly team, with training provided and opportunities to grow.

Qualifications

• Experience with heavy industrial equipment and overhaul projects.
• Strong mechanical sense and practical problem-solving skills.
• Reliable, with good judgement and teamwork.
• Willingness to learn and participate in multi-sector maintenance.

Responsibilities

Are you an experienced Fitter with strong mechanical aptitude and a solid understanding of heavy industrial equipment? We're looking for a reliable, hands-on tradesperson to join our team and contribute to a wide range of overhaul, repair, and assembly projects across multiple sectors.

About our client

Provide's specialist overhaul and maintenance services to the Steelmaking, Paper, and Mining industries. Our workshop handles a broad variety of rotating and mechanical equipment, backed by a team of down-to-earth tradesmen who work independently but never hesitate to lend a hand.

What You'll Work On

You'll be involved in the overhaul, repair, and assembly of:

• Bearing installations & rotating equipment
• Brand new slurry pump assembly
• Dynamic balancing of various components

Workshop Equipment

You'll have access to a fully equipped workshop, including:

• Manual lathes
• Surface grinder
• Hydraulic presses
• Dynamic balancing machine

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a Fitter who has:

• Experience in any of the above areas of heavy industrial equipment
• Strong mechanical sense and practical problem‑solving skills
• Good judgement, initiative, and life skills
