Job summary

Programmed has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Fitter to join the maintenance team at Somersby. You will maintain production equipment, diagnose faults, perform preventative maintenance and contribute to reliability and safety in a large-scale manufacturing environment.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will read technical drawings, operate CMMS, support apprentices, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives while upholding site safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or Fitter & Turner.
• Current NSW White Card or willingness to obtain.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, mining, heavy industry or processing environments.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability.
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, pumps and rotating equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and maintenance documentation.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Current driver’s license.
• Welding and fabrication skills; dogging, rigging, EWP, forklift or Working at Heights tickets.
• Experience with CMMS maintenance systems and leading maintenance activities.

Programmed has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Fitter to join the maintenance team at our client site in Somersby. Our client is the manufacturer of Autoclaved Aerated Concrete, producing innovative, sustainable and high-performance building products used throughout residential and commercial construction across Australia. This is a hands-on role supporting plant reliability, equipment performance, and operational excellence across a large-scale manufacturing environment.

About the Role

About You

To be successful in this role you will possess:

• Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or Fitter & Turner

• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capability
• Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, pumps and rotating equipment

• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Current driver's licence
• Welding and fabrication skills
• Dogging, Rigging, EWP, Forklift or Working at Heights tickets

• Continuous improvement or Lean Manufacturing experience
