Komatsu Australia Pty Ltd in Queensland is seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Fitter to maintain, diagnose and repair heavy mining equipment across our operations in the Blackwater region. The role involves hands-on technical work on Komatsu fleets and close collaboration with a safety-focused team.

You will perform preventative maintenance, interpret OEM manuals, and keep accurate service records. The roster is 7 days on, 7 nights on 12.5-hour shifts, with opportunities to contribute to

The Opportunity

Are you an experienced Heavy Diesel Fitter who enjoys solving complex mechanical problems and working on some of the biggest equipment in mining?

Komatsu Australia is looking for a skilled and motivated Heavy Diesel Fitter to join our Queensland mining operations team.

This is an opportunity to put your technical skills to work across heavy mobile mining equipment, while being part of a supportive team that values safety, quality workmanship and continuous learning.

What you'll be doing

• Carrying out maintenance, inspections, diagnostics and repairs on Komatsu mining equipment.
• Identifying and troubleshooting mechanical and equipment-related faults.
• Supporting planned maintenance and equipment reliability activities.
• Using technical manuals, schematics and OEM specifications to complete work to a high standard.
• Maintaining accurate service records, diagnostic results and maintenance documentation.
• Working closely with technicians and operational teams to minimise downtime.
• Identifying opportunities to improve equipment performance, reliability and safety.

Role Located: Blackwater Region, QLD

Roster: 7:7 day/night, 12.5 hour shifts.

What we are looking for

• Relevant heavy diesel or mobile plant mechanical trade qualifications.
• Experience maintaining and repairing heavy mobile mining equipment.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, service manuals and equipment specifications.
• A proactive approach to safety, teamwork and problem-solving.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.

Highly regarded

• Experience with Komatsu 930E haul trucks, WA1200 loaders or large excavators.
• Previous OEM training or experience.
• Queensland coal mining qualifications, including Standard 11.

Candidates must be able to meet applicable Queensland coal mining medical and induction requirements.
