Job summary

Wellways is seeking a First Nations Recovery Worker to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through culturally safe, recovery-focused practice in Windsor/Richmond, NSW.

You will work with the Community Living Support program, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to empower participants, strengthen connections to culture and community, and promote wellbeing in the region.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV/Diploma in Mental Health, AOD or related field, or 1+ year relevant experience in the mental health sector.
• 100 points of identification and Birth Certificate/Passport.
• Driver's Licence and current Working with Children Check/NDIS Worker Screening.
• NDIS Worker Orientation Modules – free online course.
• Demonstrated connection with First Nations communities and leadership is valued.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical, culturally safe and recovery-focused support to participants in the community.
• Support participants to identify strengths, goals and develop recovery plans.
• Build connections with families, communities and local services to promote wellbeing.
• Complete program documentation and maintain accurate records.
• Travel across the region to meet participant needs.
