Job summary

Wellways is seeking a First Nations Recovery Worker to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Windsor/Richmond, NSW, with culturally safe, recovery-focused practice. You will work with families, communities and local services to promote wellness and belonging.

This role is part of the Community Living Support (CLS) program under NSW Government funding. Travel across the region and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team are essential to empower participants on their recovery

Qualifications

You are passionate about supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and understand the importance of culture, connection and self-determination in recovery.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills; collaborative approach within multidisciplinary teams.
Willingness to travel across the region and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

Provide practical, culturally safe and recovery-focused support to participants in the community.
Support people to identify their strengths, aspirations and goals and develop plans that support their recovery journey.
Build and strengthen connections with families, communities, services and cultural supports to promote wellbeing and belonging.
Complete recovery plans, assessments, file notes and program documentation.
Travel across the region to meet participant needs.
