We’re on the lookout for casual First Aid Officers to bring care and confidence to the thrills of Sydney’s most iconic amusement park. Luna Park Sydney has been enthusiastically welcoming generations of guests for over 85 years.
This role is all about being ready for anything: responding to first aid requests and emergencies, supporting carers and emergency services, keeping meticulous records, and ensuring our First Aid Room is always show-ready. Candidates must be available to work on 31 December for our New Year’s Eve Harbour Party.
Key responsibilities include:
- Confidently providing appropriate initial treatment for injuries and illnesses in accordance with the guidance of minimum qualifications and Luna Park Sydney procedures.
- Responding promptly to first aid requests and emergency situations, assessing the situation and acting appropriately.
- Collaborating with carers, emergency officers, and others administering first aid, taking charge of treatment when necessary or requested.
- Triaging and prioritise first aid care based on the severity and urgency of medical conditions.
- Assessing the requirement for post injury care and emergency services
- Completing and file reports in accordance with Luna Park Sydney’s policies and procedures.
- Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulatory requirements when handling sensitive information.
- Checking stock and maintaining allocated first aid kits and equipment across the park.
- Ensuring the First Aid Room is clean, organised, and ready for use at all times.
- Providing clear and effective communication in person and over a two-way radio system.
- Supporting the wider team during emergencies, ensuring a coordinated and professional response.
To be a successful in this role, you will bring:
- Current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certifications
- Advanced First Aid qualification (e.g., HLTAID014) or equivalent
- Vaccination Certificate (must include Hep B, Covid 19)
- NSW Working with Children Check (WWC) for paid employment
- National Police Check
- First Aid or Medical Support experience working with Adults and Children
- Strong customer service skills with a calm and confident approach under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to triage and prioritise in a high-paced environment
- Mature and professional attitude with excellent verbal and written communication
- Sound clinical skills, judgement and decision-making processes
- Ability to confidently work at height. Working at Height Qualification desired or ability to obtain.
- Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and during special events is essential
- Allied Health, Nursing or Medical qualifications or working towards (nice to have but not essential)
