Job summary

Legal Aid Queensland is seeking an experienced Lawyer to join the First Advice Contact Team and deliver high quality legal information and advice services to vulnerable and disadvantaged Queenslanders. You will provide legal information and practical assistance across family, criminal and civil matters, assisting clients to understand their options and navigate complex pathways.

You will work across phone, videoconference and face-to-face channels, connect clients with the right support

Qualifications

• Knowledge of relevant legal practice, procedure and ethical standards.
• Clear, concise and articulate communication skills.
• Ability to prepare comprehensive, evidence-based written submissions and resources.
• Ability to tailor your communication to clients with complex needs using trauma-informed practice principles.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality legal advice and practical assistance to clients across Queensland.
• Provide clear advice across phone, videoconference and face-to-face channels.
• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the justice system and help shape legal resources, policy and service delivery initiatives.
