Job summary

Reqiva seeks a Firmware Engineer to contribute to embedded software for next-generation medical devices. You will work with electronics, hardware and AI teams to develop, optimise and validate firmware, integrating sensors and communication interfaces to support product development from concept to production.

Ideal candidates have a degree in a relevant field and strong C/C++ firmware experience with microcontrollers, sensor interfaces and BLE/wireless tech.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Embedded Systems or a related discipline.
• Strong experience in embedded firmware development, ideally using C/C++.
• Experience working with microcontrollers and hardware interfaces.
• Understanding of sensor integration and embedded communication protocols.
• Exposure to BLE, wireless technologies and low-power design.
• Experience debugging and testing embedded systems.
• Comfortable working in a hands-on product development environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain embedded firmware for wearable electronic devices.
• Develop firmware for microcontrollers and sensor-based systems.
• Integrate sensors, analogue electronics and wireless communication interfaces.
• Work with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and low-power embedded technologies.
• Optimise firmware for performance, reliability, power consumption and battery life.
• Support hardware bring-up, debugging, testing and product validation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams across hardware, electronics and software.
• Contribute to firmware architecture, technical documentation and product development.
