Job summary

DFES is seeking dedicated firefighters for fixed term and permanent full-time roles in Western Australia. You will respond to fires, vehicle incidents, rescues and other emergencies to protect people and property. Training and career development are provided, with relocation options to regional stations.

Ideal candidates show courage, compassion, resilience and teamwork, and must meet strict eligibility and licensing prerequisites including a valid C Class licence and First Aid certifications.

Qualifications

• Must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident with unrestricted work rights, or a NZ citizen with a Special Category Visa.
• Current Manual (C Class) driver’s licence.
• Current Provide First Aid Certificate HLTAID011 with exact competency HLTAID011.
• Within five months of online application obtain additional licences/certificates.
• National Police Certificate may be required during recruitment.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and participate in emergency incidents to safeguard people, property and the environment.
• Assist with firefighting, rescues and other emergency responses as part of the team.
