Job description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Fire Systems Tester to join our service team. The role involves carrying out statutory inspections, testing, and maintenance of essential fire safety systems and equipment in line with the relevant Australian Standards and client requirements.

The successful candidate will ensure compliance, accuracy in reporting, and provide quality customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct monthly and six-monthly inspections and testing of Fire Detection and Control Indicating Equipment (FDCIE) and Water Storage Tanks
  • Conduct six-monthly inspections and testing of other essential systems
  • Complete service documentation, logbooks, and compliance reports accurately and on time
  • Identify and report deficiencies, faults, or non-compliance in systems
  • Perform minor repairs and adjustments as required
  • Liaise with clients and internal teams to ensure effective communication of service outcomes
  • Adhere to workplace health and safety requirements at all times
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain compliance with relevant standards
Requirements

Mandatory:

  • Current Manual Driver’s Licence
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to compliance
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • White Card (Construction Induction)
  • Basic computer literacy (service reporting apps/software)
  • Previous experience in fire protection inspections, testing, or service
  • Exposure to relevant Australian Standards (AS1851, AS2293, AS2118, AS2419, AS2441)
  • Accreditation(s) or Certificate II/III in Fire Protection
