Job summary

Downer invites applications to join our permanent workforce at RAAF Amberley as a Fire Systems Technician, delivering base and estate services under the PAS contract with Defence. You will respond to maintenance requests, diagnose faults, perform repairs, and ensure compliance with Defence standards.

To succeed, you will hold a Certificate III in Fire Systems Testing and Inspection, FPAA or FPAS accreditation, Australian citizenship for Defence clearance, and post-trade experience in fire

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Fire Systems Testing and Inspection is required.
• Fire Protection Accreditation (FPAA), QBCC Fire Protection Licence (QLD), or FPAS Accreditation (NSW) required.
• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain Defence Security Clearance.
• Post-trade experience in fire systems fault diagnosis, corrective maintenance and repair.
• Experience with root cause analysis, fault finding and compliance testing.

Responsibilities

• Respond to corrective maintenance work orders and unplanned fire system faults within contract-specified response times.
• Conduct root cause analysis and diagnosis using manuals, standards and asset history.
• Perform rectification works including repairs or replacements of faulty fire system components.
• Implement make safe or temporary repairs when required and streamline major component replacement.
• Verify and test corrective maintenance works, ensuring compliance to standards and Defence policies.

What You'll Do

This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:

What You'll Bring

• Certificate III in Fire Systems Testing and Inspection

• Demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis, fault finding and compliance testing to restore fire systems to operational condition
• Experience responding to unplanned or reactive work orders within required response times
